This vehicle underwent a full bare metal body restoration. The body shell was stripped of all corroded panels and chassis sections, then sandblasted to remove any remaining rust/corrosion and the entire lower 9 inches of the body shell was replaced or repaired with new or hand fabricated replacement sections.
Once the body repairs were completed the vehicle was completely repainted inside and out and the cavities were wax injected. The underside was coated in zinc primer then painted in an anti-stone chip and wax coating.
The final photographs show the vehicle ready to be returned to the customer in a fully repaired and repainted condition ready for him to re-fit the interior and glass/trim/seals etc. |

This vehicle came to us an owner repaired body shell and floor pan. We manually stripped the body shell and then sand blasted the underneath panels to remove the numerous paint finishes. We then completed the repairs, straightened the panels and painted the vehicle in L227 Strato Silver and the floor pan and suspension parts in satin black. |

This imported vehicle underwent a bare metal body restoration and total redevelopment. The body shell was stripped of all corroded panel sections and repaired with new or hand fabricated replacement sections. The list of modifications is immense; the vehicle now has a 3.2ltr Porsche engine and transmission, rear suspension, braking system and wheels. The body shell/chassis is substantially strengthened and a full roll cage is welded into place.
The vehicle has been subtly customised with all chrome removed and colour coded to match the Pearl and Mica painted body. The interior features a remodelled dash and a full trim in leather with a built in sound/DVD system. This van was featured in a build up series in UltraVW with a final unveiling feature in the November 2009 issue. |

This vehicle came to us as a stalled project. We took over and removed the floor and engine and boot bulkheads so that the body shell could fit over the space frame we then made. The space frame was built from CDS to MSA regs and incorporated a fully adjustable front end with Cosworth coil over-struts and a 5 linked Salisbury axle we narrowed to fit. |

This is our Company vehicle, that as you will see from the 'before' picture did not look in bad condition when it arrived. However on closer investigation it was found to be badly repaired with very deep body filler in most panels. Every panel has been reworked with new side panels, sills, jacking points, top-hat sections etc. welded in. The van was then straightened and painted in L87 Pearl White. Mechanically the van remains as purchased with a 1641cc engine, IRS, CSP discs and cut and turned front beam.
The interior was built by Alan and features a rear over head locker, two facing bench seats, one of which houses the rock'n'roll bed, giving plenty of storage underneath. Chris trimmed the front bench seat and rear seats in brown vinyl and made cushions and curtains in similar colours to the tiles to finish it off.
Whilst this van is not intended to be a show van it is used as a demonstration van for customers to get a feel of what Splitscreens are all about. It also gets used for our holidays and leisure times and is not treated preciously. |
